Welcome to Kaizen Farm Riding Center

English riding lessons since 1997 conveniently located near Meridian, ID just off the new Ten Mile exit.

Kaizen is Japanese for “continuous improvement” and that is our philosophy for a friendly facility where all students are welcome regardless of how much, or how little, experience they have.

We encourage everyone to continually improve all aspects of their horsemanship at their own pace.

Kaizen Farm has 15 experienced lesson horses and ponies to allow students to join our year round weekly lesson program which covers biomechanics of riding, basic dressage, principles of jumping, groundwork, riding in the open, mounted games and all things to do with good communication and feel for horses.

Our instructors have over 50 years combined experience of teaching, riding and competition with the United States Dressage Federation, United States Eventing Association, British Horse Society, Pony Club and 4H.  Our guiding principles come from classical and natural horsemanship and we believe in fun, safety and structured progression - not pressurized quick fixes.  In recognition of our program we were approved in 2008 as a United States Pony Club Riding Center.

We accept children from age 6 for our junior program and from age 10 for group lessons.  Younger than 6 are offered one on one lead line lessons.

Teenagers and adults are always especially welcome – from total beginner to experienced.  We have particular expertise for those who are returning to horses in later life.

Kaizen Farm is located on 26 acres with:

  • 2 outdoor sand arenas - for jumping & dressage.
  • A 20x20 meter covered area.
  • An introductory cross country course on grass complete with water complex.
  • Trails around the property.
  • The Loft - a large heated lecture/party/meeting room above the barn.
  • Show jumps, dressage, games and polocrosse equipment allow us to offer a full and varied English riding program.
